Ischaemic
Heart disease Is the leading
cause of death in the world
and accounts for
approximately 40% of all
deaths under the age of 75. |
|
|
|
 |
Sudden cardiac arrest is responsible
for more than 60 % of adult deaths
from coronary heart disease. |
|
|
 |
One third of people developing a
myocardial infarct ( heart attack )
will die before reaching hospital.
In most of these deaths the
presenting rhythm is VF/ VT. The
only effective treatment of these
arrhythmias is defibrillation. |

Peninsula Health Care Training Ltd

Moving and Handling
Over a third of all over three day injuries
reported each year to the HSE and local
authorities are caused by manual handling.
Reports show that in 2001/02 12.3 million
working days were lost due to these work
related injuries. On average each sufferer
took 20 days off in that 12 month period.
Prevention of manual handling injuries has
been identified as a priority by the Health
and Safety Commission.
Choose form one of our comprehensive
training packages to avoid, assess and
reduce the risk to your employees and reduce
the impact of work related injury on your
company.
Protection of Vunerable Adults (POVA)
Sadly , in recent years, there have been too
many incidences where vunerable adults have
been harmed in situations where they should
have been protected by either professional
or family members, in care settings or in
their own homes.
The POVA scheme is designed to significantly
enhance the level of protection for
vunerable adults. The training sessions set
out what is required of providers of care
and employers.
Peninsula Health Care Training Ltd can also
assist with the purchase of equipment and
writing of Risk Assessments in key areas. |
