Basic Life Support (Adults and Paediatrics)

Aim- To strengthen the chain of survival by optimizing circulation and oxygenation through effective Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

Course Content

	Recognition of the patient at risk.
	Communication skills when summoning help.
	Safe approach / risks to rescuer.
	Assessment of the casualty- ABC.
	Airway obstruction.
	Choking .
	Importance of early defibrillation in adults.
	Variance in children.
	Basic Life Support theory and practice.
	Post resuscitation care.
	Recovery position.
	Resuscitation equipment.

This course can be adapted to include Automated Defibrillation and individual client needs.
