Immediate Life Support

Aim- To strengthen the chain of survival by providing early defibrillation and effective oxygenation through advanced airway skills and appropriate drug administration.

Course Content

Immediate Life Support in Perspective.

Recognition of the patient at risk ABCDE approach to assessment.

Safe approach / risks to rescuer.

Assessment of the casualty- ABC.

Airway obstruction.

Basic and advanced airway management.

Choking.

Importance of early defibrillation.

Basic Life Support theory and practice.

Automated defibrillation.

The universal algorithm.

Emergency drugs ( relevant to client groups practice).

Post resuscitation care.

Recovery position.

Review of Surgeries resuscitation equipment.

Safe transfer of patient.

This course can be adapted to  individual client needs.

 

Please note this is an in house training course

We can teach the Resuscitation Councils accredited course but this is run in partnership with the Plymouth Nuffield Hospital- this course would have to be run according to strict resuscitation council guidelines and it is not possible to adapt the course to meet specific needs. The accredited course in a non profit making course and all fees are used to promote resuscitation training.
